We’re Rebuilding: A Behind-the-Scenes Update from The Labora Collective
We’re Under Construction (With Purpose)
Over the next few days, you may notice things shifting, disappearing, reappearing, or looking a bit…out of place across our Substack publications. Fonts won’t match. Pages will move. Designs may load differently from one hour to the next. Some sections may briefly look unfinished.
This isn’t an error.
It’s a transition.
We are actively rebuilding the entire Labora Collective ecosystem—unifying the visual identity, reorganizing our publications, and bringing clarity to a structure that has grown incredibly quickly over the past few months. Our goal is to create a clean, intuitive space that reflects the depth and purpose of this work, and that honors the community we’re building together.
Instead of going silent while everything is redesigned behind closed doors, we made a different choice: to keep publishing.
The work doesn’t stop, even when the scaffolding is showing.
The work doesn’t stop, even when the scaffolding is showing.
You will continue to receive essays, briefings, clinical reflections, political analysis, and community care content while we refine the structure around it. Things may look a little disjointed until the final pieces lock into place—but they are moving toward a cohesive whole.
When the dust settles, you’ll see:
a fully aligned brand across all three publications
clearer navigation and a cleaner reading experience
a more intentional home for birthworkers, patients, clinicians, and advocates
an ecosystem that reflects the full vision of Diosa Ara and the Labora Collective
Thank you for your grace and patience as we build this next iteration—one that’s worthy of you, your time, and the work we’re doing together. We’re excited to share the final reveal soon.
With gratitude and focus,
Yamicia
